This Garrard 401 has been fully-rebuilt and restored by me using my specialized idler-wheel-drive rebuilding techniques, and so is as with all my work dead silent with no hint of rumble, and extreme levels of information-retrieval. It comes with Kokomo bearing kit and Bearpaw footers and hard acrylic mat included. It is veneered with Brazilian cherry stained a darker red, to contrast with the 401’s dark grey. It replaced an Oracle Delphi MKIV Anniversary Edition, with heavier platter and bearing and with special turbo power supply, finished in black and gold. Using the same SME V tonearm mounted on the Oracle, this Garrard rebuild comprehensively outperformed it in all sonic areas, including noise floor. Likewise, another similar rebuild of mine outperformed a Platine Verdier. It was used in a system with a $100,000 Audio Note preamplifier, so no excuses need be made for it (it was traded against a Reference Lenco MKIII). Without tonearm price is $3500, I have a few I could roll up with it to make a good overall deal, contact me for details.
